Getting Rid of Bitterness

Someone hurts you
Whether by accident
Or on purpose

It brings you pain
That doesn’t go away
Any time soon

Time passes
And you say
You forgive them

But deep down in your heart
You don’t feel it
Just pain and anger

Time passes
It drags on
And brings despair and bitterness

That bitterness
Takes your love, joy
And peace

It leaves you
Sad, angst,
And lonely

To get rid
Of this
There is only one way

That way
Is to let it go
And really forgive them

Turn the hate to love
Turn the grief to joy
Turn the anxiety to peace

If you can’t do it alone
There is someone
That can help

He can help you
But you must give it to Him
And not hold onto it

He loves you and wants to help you
But won’t force you
You have a choice

His name is
The Son of God
The Lord Jesus Christ
